UN day of discussion on children of incarcerated prisoners PDF

On Friday, 30 September 2011,  about 250 people from around the world will meet to discuss the needs of children with parents in prison at a United Nations Day of General Discussion in Geneva.

Millions of children around the world are affected by their parents being in prison.  This DGD will look both at babies and children who live in prison with their parents and those children who remain outside. The day will be accompanied by an exhibition showing children’s experiences of parental incarceration through the words and drawings of children themselves.
Further information on the day is available on the website of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights
