Social entrepreneurs Ireland aims to encourage the development of social entrepreneurship in Ireland by identifying, investing and supporting needy organisations who struggle to put their ideas into action and to develop their organisation to the point where they can make a life changing impact on society.

New Support Group

Prisoners' Families Infoline is running a new support group for anyone over the age of 18 who has been affected by the imprisonment of a family member or friend and also for families faced with the issues of a family members drug misuse. The support group will offer general information, emotional support and provide an opportunity to meet with others with similar circumstances.

Prisoners' Families Infoline would like to welcome any input or suggestions in the running of the support group that would help to cater for the groups specific needs.

When:  Every Wednesday

Venue:  TWS House, 1-2 Main Street, Tallaght, Dublin 24

Age:       Anyone over the age of 18

Time:     11.30am-1.00pm

DVD on going to court launched


A DVD FOR young people on going to court has been produced by the Courts Service. It will be uploaded on to YouTube, Bebo and Facebook and also distributed by Barnardos, which assisted in its preparation.

The DVD describes how the courts work, how a video link operates, how to take an oath, who is present in court and what is required from a witness, be they adult or child.

The DVD will be distributed by Barnardos through the organisation’s 40 projects around the State.
