Are there any support services for prisoners when released
PDFFamilies constantly worry about whether their loved ones will be homeless when released, whether they will find employment, financial support and, most importantly, whether they will be able to access a service that will support and help them to reintegrate back into society. Some prisoners tend to cope with prison life better than life in the community and find it easier to reoffend so that they are sent back inside.
In some parts of the country there are support groups or projects which aim to help the prisoner and/or their family in dealing with the challenges they face during this period. Some such groups are:
