It is possible to visit your family member or friend in prison during certain visiting hours. On arriving at the prison, you must give your name and relationship to the prisoner. It is important to bring some form of identification with you as it will be requested and you may be refused access without it.

Convicted prisoners aged 18 and over will be entitled to one visit per week from relatives of 30 minutes duration. Convicted prisoners under the age of 18 will be entitled to two visits per week from relatives of 30 minutes duration.

A remand prisoner is entitled to one visit per day on any week day of 15 minutes duration.

Prisoners can nominate six people they wish to keep in contact with. Sentenced prisoners have a call card and are entitled to make one phone call per day of six minutes duration. A prisoner can request to make a call longer than six minutes, however they will be charged. Remand prisoners are entitled to make up to seven calls per week.
